"Gardaí investigating the murder of Celine Cawley are continuing to question a man arrested this morning.
The 46-year-old mother of a 16-year-old daughter was found beaten to death at her home on Windgate Road in Howth last Monday morning.
The 50-year-old man was arrested at around 7.30am in Howth by detectives from Raheny and Clontarf.
He was taken to Clontarf Garda Station where he is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
He was not in his own home at the time he was picked up.

For the past six days there has been an intensive investigation into the murder of Ms Cawley.
The managing director of Toytown Films was found beaten to death on the patio of her luxury home on the south side of the Hill of Howth.
Her husband Eamon Lillis told gardaí he had dropped their daughter Georgia to school that morning and then took the dogs for a walk.
When he came home he said he found an intruder in the house who got away after he struggled with him.
Gardaí are still trying to identify and locate this man described as of slight but strong build.
The murder scene and surrounding roads have remained sealed off for most of the week as forensic examinations and searches for a balaclava, gloves and other evidence continued."

Why can't then person arrested be named? Do charges have to be brought before someone can be named?

Peeps, please refrain from writing anything here that could be perceived as libellous even if you think you're merely alluding to it, we have to be careful.

    taken from Ireland.com

Husband charged with murder of Celine Cawley
The husband of Dublin woman Celine Cawley, who was found dead at her home last week, has been charged with her murder.

Eamon Lillis (50) was arrested in Howth and detained by gardai in Clontarf yesterday as part of their inquiry into the death of Ms Cawley (46) at her home on Monday.

She was found on the patio of the house at Windgate Road. It is believed she had been beaten on the head with a brick.

Mr Lillis will remain in custody and will appear before Dublin District Court tomorrow

I've removed certain posts which could be mis-construed or otherwise. I've also split it off from the previous thread to allow people to pay respects in one thread, if they wish.

:confused:This whole media situation in regards to Celine Cawley is puzzling me, is there no one out there who would like to express their feelings about this horrible barbaric murder??? Or are we not allowed? This silence is scaring me to death. There are hundreds of WOMAN out there who are being abused and are just lucky to survive day by day. And what is the message from the media sending out there???? SILENCE.

I want my freedom of speech, and tell the world in detail how disgusted terrified and scared I am.

Who knows, it could have been an accident for all we know. It's all speculation about the murder weapon being a brick - nothing has been confirmed.

What would you like? A four-page spread from the "close-knit" community who were "stunned" by "brave" but "tragic" Celine Cawley? That would do wonders for the case against the person accused of her murder, now wouldn't it?

Well then, what are you doing on Boards.ie? Go to a website where there is freedom of speech. Or maybe set up your own.

There is already a thread on this topic in News/Media; it can be found here.

I cannot see any post here that adds anything to the existing discussion so I will just lock it rather than merge it.
