I have a NEC projector which the light does not go on from some unknown reason.

does any one know where or who is Dublin can fix this for me..?

I looked around but all the electrical shops said that they only sell and don't fix projectors :(

now I know its not the lap because they fade out slowly and my projector just stopped working while I was using it...

any help or advice is much appreciated..! :)

I assume you're referring above to the lamp....... it's true that lamps dimm over the course of their lifetime, but they do give up eventually. Does the lamp come on at all ? if it doesn't, then there's a good chance that you need a new one; if it were the elecronics that strat the lamp (called, funnily enoigh, the "starter" ) then you would hear a clicking noise as it tried to get the lamp going and the lamp would ligh dimly for a few seconds before going out completely. It's possible that some other part of the electronics is borked and that the lamp is alright, but unlikley, in my opinion and impossible to test without an identical projector with which to swap lamps or a service manual and appropriate testing euipment.

How old is the projector ? if it's ancient, it might be more effective to replace the projector with a similar spec low-cost model rather than repair or replace the lamp. You could try contacting Alliance Electric in Georges Street, Dublin 2 - thprey may be able to put you in touch with a service technician who could check it out for you.

well the projector is an NEC LT135. which I believe is very good :)

I don't really know how old is it and I have all the manuals, but after reading throw the manual (I have a wired warning light on) it says that the lamp house is out of place (or something like that).
so I open the lamp house and moved it around and tryd reconnecting it stronger and better but to no avail.

it still refuses to go on... it just makes the usual fan noise and then after a few seconds it make like a start noise (sound like a electricity charge up) which is usually when the light use to come on but the light just stays off.

but Thanks a mill for the help :) I will go see what they can do about it, and hopefully that helps.
