My girlfriend has a Dell Inspiron 9100 and it needs to have the keyboard and the audio card replaced. I've already gotten the replacement parts for it and am set to go.

But before i start disassembling the thing, does anyone know of any tips or pointers i could use? I've replaced a laptop screen before, but never gone near the body of one. Is it as simple as the plug and play of components in a desktop?

Are sound card on lappy modular....would have thought it was a built in chip or motherboard or sumit like that ...
    Didnt think you could swap.

Be great when you can do that with laptops in the future where there will be a base model and then you can swap the components when ever you ant , so for example you could swap graphic chips for the high end games one .. and then the motherboard for a faster bus speed etc .... like as u can in desktops...
