B&Q spare part for generator anybody know

I have a small B&Q genny 850w for while, only used it mostly for mains failure and the odd running of a little angle grinder. It packed up last week, (I blame a small Angle Grinder, also from, B&Q for doing it in) well if I plug in 300 Watts, the volts drops to 180Volt. Rang Performance Power Tools at 0845 300 2577, the number on the back of the handbook, they tell me they do not keep any internal spares; anyway they say its more than 12 months old, so.......Maybe, depending on what you want to use it for, the Performance Power 3500 model from Aldi with a 3 year guarantee and an Irish number to ring might be better at €199. You will recognise it by the big pumped wheels under it. The last time I was in B&Q in Liffey Valley, there was a 3500 model for €165, I suppose it would be OK if you only wanted it for a year. Most of these gennys are from China

Correction to my last posting, the genny from Aldi is Power Craft not Performance Power:mad:

I saw aROCKWORTH generator petrol 399 euros in ROI. I was thinking to go to the north and get it for ~300 euros

Problem is for spare parts I asked the Dublin shop and they said for spares for generator it requires calling a UK number 00441302721791 to order the spare parts from new tools sales

Why do I get the impression that the devise is a cheap and nasty made in china piece of crap that wont last more than a few hours and the spare parts don't exist and all I will end up doing is ringing the UK for nothing. The Dublin shops attitudue is so we don't do generetor spares and ring this number. Seems a bit much if they sell the device

Bugger all on line for or against the device and the so called sites that flash up on google search for rockworth only leads to nests of other sites selling other manufactuers products

Anybody actually succeeded to get spares for these things or do most just follow the name Rockworth and throw it into the nearest quarry when it break down

Any feedback welcome planning trip to north in January when sterling falls even more and mayby some sales

    Derry

A friend of mine sells SDMO generators and as far as I can remember they weren't far off 399 Euros, maybe less even. I know the larger ones (500Kw) were John Deere engined so these aren't cheap pieces of chinese cr*p - if you are still looking for one pm me and I'll ask him if he has any left and if they're for sale.

Oh and there are shops in Ireland that carry SDMO spares, actually they may be HONDA engined but that seems crazy for so little money. I'll ask him tomorrow out of curiosity, he told me months ago but I never really took any notice at the time.
