What's with the new releases being sold at relatively low prices lately? Ya know, like GOW2 was released at around 49.99 and Mirror's Edge is only 35 quid now....?!

I for one welcome our new low price overlords!!

    Meh,
I'd say you may see more of this in the next year. Economic downturn, yada yada yada.

Saw the "Dark Knight" special edition DVD during the week somewhere for 20 quid! That's unheard of (outside the 'tinternet), if it was two years ago it would have been twice that price when out new...

Not many people are going to spend €60 for a game now that we are in the "recession".!

Yep, the recession is bring prices down everywhere.

Some games still have a 60euro price tag on them though. And I wonder how long these low prices will last for.

Game are changing the games on sale each week. It seems as though Fallout 3 and Mirror's Edge are always going cheap, but I missed my chance to pick up MK vs DC for €35. It's full price again, I can't pay that much having seen it so cheap!

Which HMV? I'm pretty sure I saw it for €27 yesterday. If not HMV then in some similar store on Henry Street.

Got Eternal Sonata in Smyths for €9.99, will quench my rpg fix until after Christmas :D

Some people (like me) would rather pay a couple of euros more and not have to wait a couple of weeks to get the games. ;)

Was just down in GAME on Dawson St. Lots of new games reduced. Some that come to mind are Mass Effect €10, Skate €12 and more. I even noticed "Open Season" for €2.50, so if someone wants a cheap kids game, there ya go!

P.S Noticed Gamestop have a crap deal on second hand games now, buy two get one select title free. The select titles are all old not so great games and they have nothing under €15 in the second hand section, so they at least make €30 off you.

Yeah the price wars on new releases are pretty good at the moment: would be rare to pay over 50 euro for a new 360 game on Henry Street. Annoying for picking games up early though - picked up Fallout standard edition for forty a week or two after release thinking it was a bargain, only for the special edition to be considerably cheaper a fortnight later.

Poor Mirror's Edge and PoP though: at those prices they've probably sold next to nothing,
