I bought a DS from Canda as a gift forgetting about the different plugs and power specs etc. Can I just buy a little adapter for the plug or do I need to buy a new power supply? Thanks

Check the spec on it, should be on a label it might say 100-250V, or similar in which case you can use an adaptor.

If it specifically says 110V or 115V you can't. A new UK supply is very cheap on dealextreme anyway.

Also my one broke, I simply got an old mobile phone charger which gave out 4.8V, the DS is 5.2V I think. So I snipped the wires, stripped and joined them. Works fine, just takes a little longer to charge.

You should not go over voltage though, i.e. 4.8 was lower than 5.2V it was expecting.

You'll need a power convertor, maplin have them and they are quite resonable

    No he won't.

All you need is a European DS charger. Just use it instead of the American one. The DS consoles themselves are all the same.
