"She's so annoying" isn't much of a rant, Laura.

I used to work with Sheana years ago (before she broke into TV). Really nice girl, down to earth and got on well with everyone. She worked really hard to get into RTE, and I'm delighted she is doing so well.

Tell her to change her horrendous new haircut. It looks like a small woodland creature has taken up residence on her head. For an attractive woman it does absolutely nothing for her.

Well I haven't seen her since about 1999, but if I do, I'll pass on your message. :)

    Sheena's hairstyle is dreadful.

It's like what my mother used to do to my fringe when I was a child, it would be so uneven and she'd keep trying to straighten it but it kept ending up shorter and shorter and a total shambles.

I think Sheena is very much in Blaithnaid's shadow, Blaithnaid is the dominent one :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,546 ✭✭✭Enii

Her hair is a disgrace!!! It looks like she let her children cut her fringe.

Have to say I am not a fan of Sheana, she is so boring and serious.

Blathnaid on the other hand is the life and soul of the programme, she's fantastic.

The chef Louise is very watchable too.

I like neither Blaithnaid nor Sheana. They annoy me terribly.

I think it's the stupid comments that they make, especially when they are doing the cooking segments. I know they have to ask the obvious questions but it just really annoys me!

Meh, I still watch it if I'm off. Brings me back to my student days.

Thumbs up for Sheana from me. Good at her job and a fine looking woman too.

I wouldn't watch that program if my eyes were stapled open and my head was vice-gripped to the telly.

    my thoughts as well ....

Sheana can be a bit false imo. Blaithnaid is very good at her job and she's gorgeous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

She can be a bit tetchy at times. But that Blaithnead one is even more annoying with her bit of gaeilge and her twenty kids.

That Louise one is an awful know it all. She acts very old for her age.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 523 ✭✭✭thermo66

    20 kids?

My mother loves Blaithnaid and both my sister and her (who are both housewives so watch it every day!!!) say Sheana wrecks their head. I don't really mind her i just think cos Blaithnaid is such a live wire and natural she looks a bit wooden next to her. I think she looks bored at times! Have to say i prefer it to Seoige that bores me something chronic. The new sister ( can't re her name:rolleyes:) is a lot better than Grainne in my opinion though. Grainne dresses way to old for her age too.

To be honest that Blathnaid one annoys me tremendously. She puts on the mammy act with every guest she's interviewing. It just comes across as lame and patronising.

Why yes, yes I have, and I stick to my opinion. I like her, you don't, enough said.

The hair isn't her finest work, but it's far from a deal breaker for me. The rest of the fundamentals are still present. Besides, I'll overlook her dodgy do if she overlooks my flaws;).

Sheana's pretty but Blaithnaid is a much finer woman and has fab hair so no problems there ;)

Good discription of Irish Daytime TV :)http://www.independent.ie/lifestyle/the-weird-world-of-daytime-tv-1541507.html
But there is hope for this show and it goes by the name of Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh. In fact, I think Blathnaid must be the Irish for Oprah. Oprah succeeds across the Atlantic because she has the perfect blend of sex appeal, authority and tear-jerking optimism for an American audience. Blathnaid hits our G-spot because she has the ability to switch from mother to lover to the "will you go away out of that ya big eejit" kind of culchie woman that Irish people just love. She even says "oh, lads" when she likes something. It shouldn't work, but it does.

The rest of the crew don't get a look in when she is within sniffing distance of the camera. Sheana Keane looks well, and has a nice manner on her own, but put her next to Blathnaid and she looks a bit brusque and ill at ease. And then there's Trevor Keegan. Trevor has the peculiar habit of tilting his head to one side when addressing the camera, in the manner of a puppy when he's trying to tell you something. You worry that if he stuck his tongue out, Blathnaid might tickle his belly and tell him he's allowed up on the couch just this once.

If The Afternoon Show is ever going to appeal to a new audience, all it needs to do is stop talking down to people and change its name to Blathnaid.

    That show is absolutely brutal.
Blathnaid is an imbacile, she never shuts her big gob and is always blabbering/waffling/cutting across her guests .
    Empty vessels make most noise.

Don't see the Afternoon Show everyday, but I have to say that I prefer Blathnaid to Sheana. I don't mind Sheana, but I agree, she does seem very serious all the time. Blathnaid on the other hand, seems more down to earth and can change her mood/tone as the topic of discussion requires. Sheana does serious for everything. Have to say though, I like Blathnaid since the 'Echo Island' days when I was a child....ah the memories.

They need to get rid of that airhead that does the consumer advice section.

Oh I have to switch over when she comes on - the most irritating voice on television at the mo.

The girl who does the cooking, can't think of her name - she's nice but can be quite patronising.

I have to say that's the first time I've ever heard Oprah and Sex Appeal in the same sentence. People don't really think that do they? Gross...

I think the writer of the article is being sarcastic to a certain extent.

By that I mean that he is also being funny and giving an opinion all of which are not sarcastic. IMO
