I hope nobody minds me linking (mods, feel free to remove if inappropriate) but I'm interested in people's thoughts on Friday's horse racing betting from Downpatrick

I've picked out a few in the above article, but there's a couple of tricky ones, including the hunter chases. Any thoughts welcome!

I was looking at that card and decided Ascot was easier to parse! I don't watch enough
Irish jumping in "minor/mediocre" events. The 1.55 looks like a Mullins stitch up, given Paul Townsends form I'd back Cru (mares allowence) in the belief he'd get the plum ride (as he sees it).

The beginners chase is a race to be avoided! Arthur moores horse would be a good thing but cant see it getting home over 2 mile 7. The best bet on the card would be E O'Gardys horse Having a Cut in the Hunters chase. Price looks to short to me. This horse won a point and then finished 8 lenghts behind cousin Vinny in a bumper in punchestown. In the the opening handicap hurdle i like the look of the shark hanlons horse. Mastern commander is well handicapped but would prefer a longer trip. I can see this fella winning today and being turned out pretty quickly over the next week. The other Handicap hurdle will go to oliver brady trained Saddlers native who was not abused when his chance had gone at fairyhouse. He was never put into the race that day for whatever reason but was on the bridle into the straight. I think he will win today and is declared to run at Navan again tomorrow.

The gamble is landed! LOCK MOR LAD was backed from something like 33 to 6s at the off.

NAP Saddlers Native. 1.25 11/2

Mark my word

Chief Oscar in the 2:55 at 5/2 will go very close and should win

Not quite, the winner stayed on powerfully. I did SN as a place bet so happy enough.

Goldstown Boy in 1.55 is mover.

3rd pity you did not advise people to back it e/w , Thornton gave the winner a very good ride from the front , seems liek the place to be today

Irish racing i think u will find that i orginally tipped SN with some very valid analysis. If you dont praise me u are getting no more tips. That wannabe Kelly knows nothing.

We'll see how little I know in the 2.55 maiden hunter chase.

I'm an expert on PTPing and Chief Oscar is very highly regarded.

TIP:

Lay - Having A Cut

Back - Chief Oscar to win

Well called, backed him on the nose. :)

Kauto banned for 2 weeks for being an idiot. stuttgartkelly, you have made your point, any more crap and you will join him.

wb in his betfair write up gives him small stakes backing. I think I'll swerve this one for a punt on the last at Ascot. I have a foolish attraction to 4 place races.
