Hey, I found this scary account of working life in the HSE and the effect cutbacks will have. Its written by a junior doctor who seems to think enough is enough.

Judging by the style in which that piece is written, its timing, and the arguments used, I'm pretty sure I know who wrote that!

Some fair points in there. However unless that was written as a cathartic exercise I don't see the value and I don't envisage the HSE suddenly changing course. I think people overestimate the effect of blogging in Ireland. Unless you send that to the producers of Prime Time or get it into the weekend papers it is going to be wasted effort.

What is missing from a lot of rants about the HSE is "This is how I would run the hospital if I were in charge". The HSE should have to defend their plans in the face of a proposed alternative.

    It's quite well written.
Particularly like the description of on-call- "soul-destroying torture".
    Sounds about right.
    LOL.

Wow, I really was shocked after reading that.
€30 a week for rent is appalling.

On a completely different note, could anyone tell me where it would be possible to pick up a copy of the Irish Medical Times in Dublin City Centre.
Ive looked everywhere, but to no avail!

Irish Medical Times and MIMS Ireland are published by:

Maybe just drop in, they might have a few copies floating about?
