How do you find the tempo of a drum sample in pro tools?

Trim the loop up to 2 bars or whatever, be as accurate as you can. Open the audiosuite time compression/expansion plug-in. Enter the amount of bars you have in the source bars box & Pro Tools will work out the tempo for you & display it in the destination bpm box. Adjust the sessions tempo as necessary. Clever eh?

I am still confused, I have highlighted the drum sample and selected the time compression/expansion from the audio suite but i am a bit stuck now. I am not really sure where exactly and what exact info I have to type in??

Do I highlight to the end of the sample and then enter the bars beats ticks info ??

Once you have highlighted the region, open the plug in. In the time compression expansion plug in window type in the number of bars you have in the bars:beats:ticks box on the LHS in the source column. (Probably 2/0/0) Now on the RHS destination column the bpm box will update to show you the tempo of the loop.
