    Hi there,

I got a new MacBook in November.

Tried to log onto paddy power poker and was given an error message. Email paddy power and they said their software was not compatible with a mac.

On the advice of another boardsie here I installed firefox but getting the same error message.

it's saying that I do not have "permission" to view this page, which I find strange.

Has anyone had this problem. Is it a software block on gambling sites?

Software that isn't made for the mac OS, so if you've loads of windows software it ain't gonna work.

Look for a symbol of a smiley over an "OS X" on a software pack and your laughing. It's usually beside the Windows logo so it's easy to find.

If you are looking to hold onto your Windows software, you should look at Bootcamp or Parallels or some of the Windows boot options on a Apple.

I'm on a MBP surfing with Safari and Paddy Power site works as normal. Should do with yours. The OS should not make any difference. Your browser may make a difference - but rarely really.
Firefox, Safari or IE works with most stuff.

Enable the Developer Menu in Safari Preferences. Then you can set your user agent to IE/Windows.

Its not the browser thats the problem, its the poker client software. The software isn't written and packaged for Linux (OSX) which is why it won't work.

As mentioned just use Bootcamp, Parallels or VMware Fusion to run a Windows Virtual machine.

It's not the site, it's the poker software that is the problem.
