I woke up to the sound of an air raid siren just ten minutes ago. They usually put it on Friday at noon. Anyone else hear it, and what's the story with it? Are we being bombed?

I'm around Rathmines at the moment by the way.

Yeah, Cathal Brugha, I know, but the thing is I've never heard it go off unless it was Friday at noon.

If I die, I'm gonna be real pissed off:mad:

Don't worry OP, its only Ze Germans. They haven't come to kill you though. They have just come to make you into an entirely efficient being.

Personally though, if they gave me the choice, i'd prefer to be gassed.

No, it used to be daily. I went to primary and secondary school within yards of the place. Depends what they're at.

We're kinda screwed then as I just saw Russian tanks driving through Salthill in Galway.

God love the midlands when they meet.

Is this going to make Athlone the new Stalingrad? Because Stalingrad is a far more attractive place to live.

Wartime-Stalingrad or post-Stalingrad? As it seems wartime-Stalingrad would've been better than living in Athlone.
