anyone else not interesed in xmas? my mother died 18 months ago and i have other issues that mean i have no interest. no lights tree on my house only one in the area with neither. not int in the food would not even be bothered getting it or cooking it. I think xmas is just a huge marketing ply to make people feel there issomething wrong with them if they do not join in the whole fanfare

Would not go so far as to say I'm not interested in Christmas, just at this moment I do not have enough time to do anything about it. Yes I do agree that it seems to be alot more of a marketing ploy but then again if you have kids I'm sure it would be alot different.
Remember it is only one day:)

Yep I'm bah humbug central this year.

Am trying to exchange on our new house, that now looks like it won't happen until early January, so I've got annual leave that I'm doing nothing with (was supposed to be moving, now am not).

I'm spending Christmas day at the relatives who do 'rentacrowd' - 15 people for christmas dinner. Which is fine, but it's five hours of prep, a half hour of eating and three hours of cleanup. Most of the 15 eaters slope off after dinner, leaving the hostess, the hostess's sister, and me and my OH to do the cleaning up.

I don't want to be living where I'm living, and haven't for the last six months, so I'm browned off about that. Live with the mother in law.

Have sent a few bits to UK and Ireland as presents, but am not sure if they'll even get there on time. Have done nothing about a Christmas Tree.

One of my cats has had surgery, so needs close care, so he can't be left alone much for the next 10 days. I'd love to just be able to settle in with a stack of DVDs + poorly moggy and watch crap movies and mind the cat, but we can't do that because we live with my mother in law and it just doesn't work like that.

That, plus I'm in Australia and the rest of my family are doing Christmas in UK and IReland and I'm pretty out of touch with that.

So yeah, reckon it'll pass me by this year, and well that it would!
