Hi, i've an unlocked blackberry 8800 that was previously on the vodafone uk network (i am now using it on vodafone ireland). Anyways, i want to update the phone to the newest software (4.5), however vodafone gives me this link :https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=7143D7FBADFA4693B9EEC507D9D37443

as you can see, there is no option for the update for an 8800. Would it damage the phone if i updated the 8800 to 4.5 by different means? (using the uk site, or the us site etc.) Could this re-lock my phone or render it useless to the IE vodafone network?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
