I've an item for sale on ebay, and have been offered payment by bank transfer.
Are there any issues with this, or dangers? I've only used Paypal in the past.

Not really, he can't get the money back if something goes wrong so only real thing to worry about is the fact you're giving out your bank account. I'd wait a week or so to ensure that the money don't come from a stolen account though.

ok, and how would I know if the money came from a stolen account? I guess it would be taken back out of my account?
And what could someone do if they have my bank account number?

Even if the funding bank account was fraudulent, there's nothing that can be done. The money can not be taken back once transferred.

No one can do anything with your bank details, they are printed on every cheque that anyone has ever written, so why would it be a problem?
