Swimming (Triathlon)

I can run a marathon and have cycled from Clare to Dublin but as regards the swimming I've never gone beyond a pool. Is there anywhere, any school, one can go to to focus on long distance outdoor swimming ?

Where are you based? Not sure of any schools/lessons specifically for OW swims but one option is to join a tri club many of whom will have OW group swims. Also IMO whilst it's a fair bit different in terms of sighting/contact if you get the training done in the Pool you'll be fine in an OW swim.
