Reccomendation for a wireless router

Not sure if this belongs in the midband forum of not :)

I've just got my Fixed Wireless BB (regional BB BTW) and I want to hook up wirelessly around the house. The adaptor uses a standard LAN connection and I reckon I need to go for an N class router as I have concrete floors upstairs. Comms isn't my strong suit and I'm a bit confused by the huge range of makes, models and types of routers available, so:-

    1. Do I need a router or a wireless access point

    and

    2. Which make model would most cost effectively meet my requirements

    3. Which ones might be worth avoiding

    Thanks

Loads and loads of posts on this very topic do a search on here - usual suspects are Belkin, Netgear, Linksys, Zyxel......

Be careful that you get the one that is NOT the ADSL variant....

if you want one thats actually going to work i suggest you ignore anything with BELKIN written on it.
