    Hello,

I can find nothing conclusive about whether or not we require visa's to enter Thailand for a 7 night trip.

Even their own consulate has confusing information. I dont know whether I do not need one if its less than 30 days or if I need one if its more than 30 days.

    Any thoughts?

As far as I know, for short term stays under 30 days you get the visa upon arrival in the Thai airport.

It's only when you're going for an extended stay that you need visa before travelling.

I'm assuming you have an Irish passport of course.

    Look at this ****:

Hidden away on Page 3 of the application form. I saved the PDF to the system instead of printing it to have a read and the stupid information is on the back.

A visa is not required for entering Thailand for all EU Nationals, American, Canadian, Australian and New
Zealand citizens, provided all of the following conditions can be satisfied:-
    a) Purpose of visit is tourism only.
    b) Duration of stay does not exceed 29 days.
    c) Visitor is in possession of a pre-booked flight from Thailand within 29 days.

Now it would have been of benefit to have put that in the FAQ section of the Irish Thai Embassy.

You get a 30 day visa on arrival. No need to plan anything in advance.

No....You don't need a visa if you are only going there for a few weeks....... Your travel agent will help you if you ask them...or if you have booked online the just pretend you're going to book with a travel agent and ask them of the terms and conditions in relation to visas etc!

Ha Travel agents. What a joke.

I went in to my mothers travel agent and she wanted €25 for each international ticket €20 to apply for each visa and because we are getting 6 flights she wanted €25 per flight x 2 adults.

She wanted €300 for booking the flights and €50 for booking the visas along with paying her €18 for each visa. She gave me a print out of the flight details and I said I would be back on the Monday.

Right, I went home with CC and booked them myself.
