a friend of mine is doin a gig as part of "the performance" in the village over christmas. He gave me the number of the guy who's runnin it but i looked on the website www.theperformancelive.com jus to see whats it like. (he also told me about boards which is why i came on here!)
it looks ok but tbh 150 bands in 2 days?? how is that going to work? is it quantity over quality. also, my friends band are sellin the tkts but givin the money directly to the promoter.
I havent gotten in touch with the guy yet as i want to hear what people know about it.

I have dealt with the organiser of this a good bit in he past and i would definitely say be carefull! You will almost definitely loose out i mean who asks for money straight up before youre even booked for the gig,so the risk is you pay money to play to a handfull of people(i.e:whoever it is youve managed to get to pay for a ticket)For a half hour. The facilities provided for bands are minimal also and overall i wouldnt touch it but if you decide to,be wary, theres plenty of bands who have been screwed by this!,
    Peace.

i've heard of this couple months back, sure is a scam! only the 'promoter' is going to be good and go home with lots of money in his pocket.
if you think it's worth to pay that money to play 15 mins somewhere in front of your friends, go for it!
