I got a mikomi webcam but it is rubbish. I'm trying to use it for skype. The light in my room is not great. My face keeps appearing very dark. I've tried adjusting everything but its no use. I'm going to buy a new webcam and I would really appreciate some advice as to what I should get, or look out for. Thanks a lot.

    Something like this: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/digitalcommunication/productdetails.aspx?pid=002

    Microsoft LifeCam.
There is a setting on it by the way that brightens up you if your in a dark place and/or have poor light (works excellent).
It also follows your face as you move! Spooky lol

Have the 6000 myself and it sits either on a desk or the base can be changed to have it sit on the laptop either. The 3000 model is a lower resolution. Go for the 6000 model at least.

Thanks! Is there anything similar that would be cheaper than the microsoft ones?

if the light is behind you then that is generally bad

put a mirror on the wall to reflect light into your face or get a small desk lamp ?
