    as the title says...

was playing Streets of Rage 3 last night when suddenly the bloody punch button stopped working, it kinda comes and goes.

should i open the psp up and if so, where can i get the tools necessary?

You probably could open it up, I imagine it would be tricky. An alternative option is to switch the "x" and "o" buttons using custom firmware (some games use x a lot) or to change the button config of the emulator (i assume you were emulating Streets of Rage?)

IIRC I'm pretty sure the psp screws are just small Phillips screws and a few torx ones

Its possible that the button is dirty(long shot, but it could be)

If you do need to replace it luck for you its probably the cheapest internal part in a PSP (EDIT: This presumes you have a phat, do you?)

If you do end up doing it and if you've any questions feel free to give me a shout.
