    Hi all,
I'm a novice to the game but have been on the look out for a real coffee maker without spending a fortune. Anyone have any comments on this on?

    Thanks

Looks like a Pod machine which I'm not a fan of. You'd need to know what type of pod it takes and how available they are. There are similar type espresso machines on the market for <100€. They're all best avoided tbh though.

If it was me I'd save my money and put it toward a bodum antigua and a french press. The coffee would be infintely better.

What type of coffee do you like to drink.

I have this machine. Got it last year in Aldi.
I find it grand. Makes a nice cup.

Never used pods in it though so not sure what its like with them, just use ground coffee or grind my own.

A few things I found with it that annoy me is that the boiling tank is a little small for my liking, and also I dont thing it has separate thermostats for the frother and coffee pump so sometimes if you froth milk and then turn it to start the coffee pump it has to boil the water again!!! Not a major problem but just a little annoyin!!

Another thing, Mine kinda started acting up TWICE!!! It started leaking steam out of the coffee pump!! Now this could have been cause our tap water, its extremely hard!! Destroys kettles!!! Not sure!!:o

First time it happened, went back in to Aldi with the receipt, they posted out a replacement to my house, didnt even ask for the old machine. Second time it happened, again they posted out another new machine and didnt ask for either of em back!!! Still using it at the mo. :pac:

If I had the money I'd prob buy a gaggia machine!!!
If not its grand, does the job!
Does what you'd expect for that price!! I'm happy with it anyway!!
