    Hi Guys,

Sorry if this has been posted before. I searched but coundn't find anything. A few of us booked flights with Ryanair to bergamo airport landing at 11.20 on the 24th Jan. Problem is that there doesn't seem to be any way of getting from there to Livigno in the same day. the options include getting a bus at 11.30(which would be impossible) or a train at 12.09 from bergamo train station which is 15 mins away. Both of these are cutting it a little tight so i was wondering if anyone knew of any other methods of getting there?

    Cheers

I've been to livigno more times than i can count. I'm afriad the only way apart from this is to get a taxi, which is not as expensive as you would think, especially if there is 5 of you or more and you organise it beforehand with the livigno tourist office.

A taxi driver did the journey in 3 hours for some of the lads last year! It usually takes 5 on a bus!!!

I think it was about €240 for the taxi. So it would be €60 each if you filled it.

I've just come back from Livigno tonight. Thanks to our rental car deciding to act the bollox, we had to get a taxi, we left livigno at 9.30am and got to the airport at 1.20pm. The driver was pushing it all the way, taking short cuts through bormio, tirano and sondrio, we hit traffic in lecco and outskirts of bergamo. The conditions from livigno to bormio were tricky, with traffic taking it easy, which didn't help us.

The cost was €270 which the rental company will be hit for, along with another bill for a set of snow chains that I had to buy as the one's supplied didn't fit......

sounds like a nightmare - we are renting cars in March, hope it is not the same company, would be interested to hear if you get satisfaction from them

    hiya,

The drive from Bergamo to Livigno is a long one! about 80% of it is single lane, but pretty well sign posted with no major surprises. We brought my sat-nav and and also printed out driections from mappy.com, and had no problems. Just allow between 3 - 4 hours to allow for traffic as the route goes through every town.

As I mentioned in my previous posts if you are getting snow chains make sure the size on the box matches the tyres, and when you arrive in Livigno fill up the tank with local fuel as the additive they give you to stop your fuel freezing doesn't work!

The scenery on the way up to the mountains is amazing!

Enjoy your holiday and try out the steaks in the Bellavista restaurant!
