    Hi
After reading a recent article in Retro Gamer about the ST It brought back all the fond gaming memories I have of owning a 520ST (Carrier Command being a favourite). So I was thinking of reliving those times and getting hold of one, but as I remember the Amiga machines ( 500/600/1200) also played host to a lot of ST tiltes and were more powerfull (I could be wrong here) so I was wondering if you had the choice of the ST or one of the Amiga's which one would you go for and why?
Oh yeah forget emulation, I dont like it!

Any examples of games being better on the one system (atari st) than the other (Amiga 1200)? or vice versa?

The amiga was the better system, hands down to be fair. But back then was the blindest of the blind rabid fanboyism, and it still has me to this day! Id never take an amiga over my beloved ST. The only game i remember being better on ST than Amiga was Pang, in that it was a more faithful arcade conversion and had a little bit extra in the ST version.

Don't open that can of worms! :D

ST fanboys would usually claim that the games ran faster/smoother due to slightly faster cpu. Amiga fanboys would claim their graphics were superior due to the dedicated chipset.

Truth be told in the early days since the Atari ST had a slight lead the Amiga ports often under utilised the (hard to programe) hardware. As the years went by there's little doubt the Amiga 500 had the much prettier version of every game going.

Don't forget though the Amiga 1200 came much later and was had comparitively little support for games (though there were quite a few that used the system) much like the Atari ST-E (anyone remember that?).
