Made an appointment with the dentists, can't see him til Tuesday though and am in complete agony here. Think its on of my wisdom teeth, left hand side at the back, absolute pain, contstant throbbing..... tried Nurofen Plus, actually I've been going through boxes of them like no tomorrow but they aint really working.Any suggestions? Solpadeine any good?

Continue with them and try rinsing your mouth with hot salty water as often aspossible (dont swallow obviously).. This should help reduce the infection somewhat till Tuesday. Try holding a hot water bottle wrapped in a pillow case ot towel against your jaw too, may help some bit.

If i had to hit the pain killers hard, I'd be inclined to get a prescription. It's safer than lashing into the OTC stuff. (it'll cost ya a doctors visit though)

Also, you might want to alternate between the Solpadeine and the Nurofen Plus. The active ingredients in both are fairly hard on different parts of your body so the bit of variation would take the strain off.

Cheers lads.I have this irrational fear of dentists, so I don't suppose the problem will suddenly just go away? It's been at me since Thursday on and off

Excuse my stupidity but it is my wisdom tooth that's at me, right? It's the one at the very back on the bottom, left side of my mouth

Whiskey, not the bottle. Just rub some on your gums with a finger and it will numb it. Always workked for me in the past. And put the rest of the bottle away !
