SSC ultimate aero has 1287 hp!!!!

After holding the “World’s Fastest Production Car” title for the past year, the Shelby SuperCars’ Ultimate Aero is receiving several refinements for the 2009 model year. The SSC engineering team equipped the 2009 Ultimate Aero with a 15% increase in horsepower, a revamped front fascia design, and an array of important interior upgrades. The most substantial change is an SSC-designed, 1-piece billet aluminum engine block. A milestone for the limited-production automobile manufacturer, the new block improves structural integrity and oiling capabilities allowing SSC to boost the power output to 1287 horsepower while improving durability.

This is crazy. Wonder when Top Gear gets to drive it:)

270mph! Must be some set of tyres on the thing. Can't say it's a particularly attractive car but then again it's most likely bought for performance rather than looks. The stats are very impressive though.

That's a weird looking car - I can't quite figure out if I like the shape of it or not. There are parts of it that look great, then others that just look like they shouldn't be there, like the nose seems very long and the lights just aren't big enough. Interesting car though.

I'm more interested in their Ultimate Aero EV with 500 / 1000BHP which will run for up to 7 years between charging! To be unveiled in Feb 2009 and go into production around end of 2009! Ya can keep the 1287BHP version IMO!

Think the veyron is horrible, theres never been a bugatti thats been really nice. Even the EB110 was fugly.

all the cars featured in this thread are ugly as sin (that mclaren is only an artists impression btw). how much do u want to bet that the SSC and that denmark car will be long forgotten in 2 years time

The aero is a bit plain imo, bit mclaren f1 where as the st1 is very mad.

Wonder how they corner tho...
