Whistler-Blackcomb gondola collapses

A gondola tower on the Blackcomb side had one of its supporting towers collapse, 10 injured. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2008/12/16/bc-gondola-tower-snapped.html Luckily no one was more than injured, still though a bloody nightmare when you have to go hiking up the hill for that last run:pac:

nasty just at the start of their ski season - wonder were they rushing to have it open, good to see no one was seriously hurt...

Really wouldn't like the idea of being stuck in some of the crowded gondolas for a long time whilst waiting for them to come and rescue you, the guys in the collapsed ones are almost better off as they get out first.
