Enigineering in UCC Development

    Anyone wishing to do any of the engineering courses in UCC does not require a modern language i.e. french, german etc. to be eligible for entry in 2009 onwards.

    i know... six years of german for NOTHING!!! i could have been doing something like applied maths that is actually useful for me :s

    Hopefully other colleges will follow suit. I know many people who are fantastic at maths and physics but seriously struggle with languages.
    I assume it stems from the days where universities were for the elite and having a european language was part of that.
    No need for that in this day and age imo.
