It'd be wrong of me not to subscribe to this thread.

Strange though how you can be genuinely happy for people you've never met. At least not that you know of anyway.

I am really pleased for all successful applicants so Far! All I want is the same call you lucky ducks got! I keep watching my phone even though I'm sure vetting still ongoing! With a merit between 150-180 I cant help myself but watch the Phone constantly! lol....:D

These ( :D ) smilies sum up how I feel when someone else gets the call. I'm really happy for them, but note the colour! Green. The appropriate colour for my jealousy. :D

I know what you mean. My heart was pounding reading about people on here getting the call. Although it was nothing compared to when I got my own call. :D

Aye, am so jealous, postively green with envy! To all you luck folk who have made up to the hotel on the hill, congrats and good luck! You'll be champion ironers by the time the Easter bunny comes to visit.

Looks like it's C15 for me, still no word of a medical invite :(, am thinking of running away and joining the army or maybe even the circus, might be getting a bit old for the army though! Oh the thought of going through all this crap again is making me even greener......

In C13 there were people who got in with merit numbers in the 390's (non-RC) and 1000's (RC).

PSM - You say that you haven't had a medical. I say that you haven't had one yet.

Shelley - They wouldn't give you a medical if you didn't stand a chance.

listen to this to chill out lol. with this process, you sort of need to lol. dont get stressed out about it, theres always next year. plus, you stress now, when you do get the call, youll just think in the back of your head, why did i stress, when i could be out enjoying myself.

i really do talk through my hoop dont i. its my music

I am so glad of this thread

I really did have my hopes of being included in the February intake, but I suppose I am used to disapppointment.

I could actually not sleep last night because I was so annoyed with myself/recruitment.

The sole destroying thing is my merit score is good but my stupid vetting will not clear.

Congrats to all those who got the call, your are going to have such a care free Christmas.

For everyone else hold in there, we are all in the same boat.

For a fews days I forgot about this all, getting stuck into work and Christmas.

But everytime I come on this board its makes me feel awful.

I have a friend in training at the minute and they do not really have a lot of interest in it and only applied for something to do. I think it makes me feel worse because I would give up everything for it.

I even got to meet one of the trainers through them and he could tell how desperate I was, think I scared him lol.

I know how you feel buddy. My merit number ain't too far behind yours and my vetting cleared about a month ago. I'm ready to go.

All the C14 boardies to get in for the February intake have been from an RC background, so we don't even have an clue as to what non-RC merit range is getting in.

    The waiting's driving me mad!!!

Ha! Thought i'd just jump on this one too

I'm working with a new positive theory....maybe RC's are getting the call first for Feb 1 intake as more refuse/defer....wishful thinking i know, but still :D

Cheers Owen. Gives me some kind of indication but scuppers Lolli's "positive theory."

Can you ask you mate to defer, so I can have his place?:D

I think your in luck!!! HE IS!!

All this waiting is a pain in the arse. To be honest if they where to ring and say I was going to starting in Dec 09 I could live with it. Its this not knowing **** that is the pain!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 433 ✭✭MORRI

First of all, I didn't realise there was a gaelic name for "a little dark one" I just call it poo!
2nd of all I know a non RC who got the call last week for 28th Dec, so just because you/we didn't get a call yesterday or today doesnt mean we wont get one soon!
turd of all I think they are calling people as soon as vetting clears so long as you are in the top whatever thingy pool, so you just have to be patient but it will hapen
fourth of all this is supposed to be the "jealousy" thread so quit saying "I am so happy for the nice people who got in" when you mean "I hope they get hit by a bus so I can have their place"
Fifth of all, dont get upset cos as long as you did your best you cant alter what will happen you only ruin your life and that of those around you, which is very bad!
Sixth of all, watch out for those buses;-)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 433 ✭✭MORRI

Ok Ok I shouldn't have said that about buses, I am sorry. I mean it could be a train:D:D:D:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 399 ✭✭MustBeCrazy

    Me? Jealous? Ummmm...yes.

I'm not jealous of those getting phone calls (and am actually very pleased for them all), I'm jealous of all of you who have 'decent' merit numbers and who are really just waiting on the call. My merit number is VERY high and although I've passed everything bar vetting which is ongoing (but have no reason why I shouldn't pass that too) I still have to face the prospect of a Dear John at this stage because of my merit placing (wastage). To be honest, I just want to know if I'll be getting a start in this campaign at all and would be happy with that, regardless of when it's to be.

    Que sera sera...

Why do I get the feeling your an angry bus driver?
    :eek:That is a scurrilous remark
No way, I dont want to hurt anyone, I want someone else to do it:D
Some none of my best friends are bus drivers, so I picked them cos it means i wont have to visit any of my best friends in prison in the event that they do happen to do make adjustments to the merit pool.

I was only joking anyway I hope everyone does well and has a nice time on the creaky metal bunks cleaning the fluff out from behind the sink and listening to Women's Aid or something similar telling them to be nice

    Peelers: GET OFF OUR THREAD!!

This is only for us heartbroken (or those whose hearts are pending breakage) wannabes who'll end up as security guards in shopping centers getting pelted with peanuts by fluffy-faced hoods.

    So... to summarise....

    FTPSNI !!!! :P

(I'm kidding :P - I only know that cause I work in a bus depot and see many a seat defaced with it)

    ARghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Phew...that's better. I am genuinely happy for all the boardies that got the call today but soooooooooooo jealous. Had to hoke out this thread again to vent my frustration at both ongoing vetting and crap merit number.

Onward and upward....please let me get in this time. Don't think I could go through it again.

Fingers crossed. My mum always says "if it's for you it won't go past you". But then she also thinks passive smoking dangers are myths, so take from that what you may.....

Tell your mum that my daughter's school bus drove past her the other day so her theory stinks:D
