Getting a bed?

My friends mother was taken into Tallaght hospital last night & had to wait 8 hours for a trolley. I'm not shocked by this discovery but it did get me thinking though about health insurance. Would she have had to wait or better still got a bed if she had cover?

Whe you go through AE insurance cover will make no difference at all to how long you wait for a bed. It's main benifit is not in emergencies but when you need to see a specialist or get a planned operation.
Hopes she's alright and gets out soon
