Death Via Satellite is a rocktacular, electro/new wave/indie night that holds court one Friday a month in Eamonn Dorans, Dublin.
Gathering momentum and a loyal crowd since July 2006, DVS brings the best bands to you with minimum fuss and maximum noise

We've already seen the likes of Love Lies Sleeping (L.A., USA), The Kits (Australia), Queen Kong, alazurussoul, Mendoza, The Ultra Montanes, Kopek, mojoFURY, Fight Like Apes, DC Pakt, Orphan Code, Distractors, Autoban, Laundry Shop, The Eclectic, Sons of Now & Stagger Lee play storming shows, & after 9 shows on Tuesdays we've moved to Friday nights so that hangover can be dealt with on a Saturday in bed rather than Wednesday in work...

This month, Death Via Satellite dons its Santa hat and breaks out the After Eights to welcome a band that many have labelled Dublin's Great White Hopes for 2009, THE PARKS. Their growing live presence depends on the manic scattershot energy evident in their track 'Redhands' as much as more darkwave influences, witness them fill their potential at DVS 25.

LIGHTS OVER PHOENIX keep the stage warm with a vibrant sound that evokes the alt shoegaze crunch of My Vitriol by way of more delicate, mournful leanings. They're strongly recommended to help you forget the Abba medleys you might be subjected to at various work Christmas parties and re-affirm some sort of faith in music!

THE DLS are young upstarts that trade in angular, vital indie-pop gems that evoke Gang of Four by way of Britpop era Lush, finally arriving at the Libertines door. The product of this piles in to DVS Christmas show on 19th and is in the mood...

Late DJ's man the decks from 11.30 with a heady mix of electro & indie for all...

Doors open at 8.45, admission always a paltry €10. With DJ's til late beaming in rock/electro/indie/new wave/post punk, come early for the bands, stay late for drinking, dancing, debauchery and Death Via Satellite...
