Is this a good price of a V series? It would appear to be.

I would think so.I got mine up north in a bundle deal from samsyeman electrical for e1040 including BluRay player and stand a few months ago when the best price in Dublin was around e1300 for the same deal. Most electrical dealers will usually have a bundle deal so not sure what the current best price for a 40inch v series is but at e699 I suspect would be a hard price to match. What is good about this deal is that this TV is sold in Ireland by Sony unlike a few previous models which iBood had for sale and seemed only to be sold in Portugal or Poland etc!In other words you have a good chance of tech. support if something goes wrong.A great TV by the way, treat yourself to a freesat box and see BBC HiDef in all its 1080p glory. Oh yeah I would not bank on iBood to have Santa deliver it by Christmas as the elves in iBood seem to be lazy f...kers when it comes to dispatching.

Cheapest bricks n mortar price i've seen for this (in the South) is €899 in DiD where you also get a €25 voucher to your next purchase there.

richersounds.co.uk have (UK tuner version) it for £649.95 which translates to approx €715

Musgraves still had some of these this weekend for €599 + VAT, which is about 725. Just in case you preferred to buy locally.

As previously discussed in the Musgraves thread, this is the same as a V series bar one less HDMI port and a different casing.

I got one on Sunday, it's a corking TV.

So is this a bargain or not?

And where would you go about getting an extended warranty? It only comes with 2 years...

I have ordered stuff from iBood before.
Delivery times seem to be about 3 weeks, the two items I ordered came from the Netherlands. They left me short an item in the 2nd order when I had ordered a quantity x 2, to be fair they sent me the 2nd item once I had pointed this out. They also gave me a free shipping voucher too, I still have it that's why I'm tempted with this TV.

He said MPEG4 tuner, not MPEG-2 tuner. I don't believe that quote of yours says anything about an MPEG-4 tuner..

just checked anyway - does not appear to have mpeg4 tuner according to sony.ie - however new zealand version of same tv appears to (just googling the model number of this tv)... so maybe there is an outside possibility that this does but would not chance it.

I believe teh 40V4500 has the MPEG 4 DTT tuner.

The V4000 definitely does not have it.

I do believe that was the point of his post.
