Dont see why Haye is so keen on Vitali. He doesnt seem to care whether the belt is up for grabs or not. For a guy who wants to unify all the belts and retire in 2 years it doesnt make a whole lot of sense. Especially given how dangerous Vitali is.

Even if he gets beaten (which I think is 60/40), Haye has certainly brought a lot of interest into the heavyweight division, it's such a long time since we had a fighter calling out the top guys and legitimately looking for the big fights against dangerous opponents.

It's just refreshing that someone isn't trying to hover around the middle challengers and lesser fighters of a division, hoping that the top guys will retire/lose and leave easy title matches to capitalise on.

No doubt Haye is a breath of fresh air - but the dude is running before he can walk.

Both brother beat him and IMO Vitali will beat him up for 4-5 rounds and stop him in middle rounds R6 or R7.

I honestly think haye could get bet in 1-2 rounds here, Vitali is the man in the heavy's. bad move for Haye-he's going to look stupid after this fight..been beaten by a man who's barely fought in years..

Coz he's just a loudmouth that doesn't think! Haha he pestered them for long enough for a fight and now he's got it, although he probably doesn't care once its any Klitschko

Agreed. Vitali likes to finish a fight fast if he can where as Wladimir will take it to the 11th or 12th sometimes to land the killer

While I agree that Vitali is a top fighter and has all the pedigree to stop Haye quickly at this moment in time, Haye has 6 months to prepare and has said that Lewis will be helping him.

6 months is a long time to prepare for a single fight and Haye has outstanding pedigree from the Cruiserweights himself, he has taken big shots and still come through (Maccarinelli certainly caught him a few times and we all know he can hit.)

I think where Haye might be truly caught out here is if the fight drags on to 7/8 rounds plus and he can't knock Vitali out, at that point Haye will be on virtually unknown ground to him and may struggle to come up with a plan B.

6 months is faaaaaar too long to prepare for one fight! Half that time is more the norm. I was going to say you'd be gone off the boile and find it hard to psych your self up again ... but then again Haye is a different kettle of fish and by the looks of it, it doesn't take much to psych him up :L

Oh and on the Lennox helping him out with training, i'd say thats just all mind games from Haye as he knows Vitali wants another go at Lewis (which won't happen!)

Is lewis going to show him how to get bashed by vitali like he did?

Lewis was starting to dominate that fight at the time of the stoppage, although Vitali did box the ears off him in the early rounds. I really think Haye can win this fight and don't think 6 months will be too long for him to prepare, I think he has too much pedigree to be slaughtered either.

    you've got to be joking!
he's got no chin and does not have that big a punch at the top level heavys, maybe his speed and agility will give him hope but i see a herbie hide 2 in the making, actually hide would probably beat haye.

I'm sorry but that is BS, I like Haye and he could wipe the floor with 99% of the current HW's.

I cant see Haye landing many bombs on Vitali and if he does, Dr Iron fist will take them on the chin. You cannot say the same about Haye.

The bro's could easily jab Haye to death stopping him by 5-6

Lads, you can't say Haye has no chin, he has taken big shots in the past particularly the Maccarinelli fight (we saw Maccarinelli destroy cruiserweights with his heavy hands) and although they rocked him he stayed standing.

If you look at the knockout's of Mormeck and particularly Maccarinelli, these are big guys and they are completely out of it when Haye puts them down. They were both strong, accomplished fighters (again Maccarinelli in particular, although he looked poor against Haye). I think Haye has the power to rock anyone if he connects, if he connects twice or three times I think he can put anyone down.

When I say he wont get slaughtered because he has too much pedigree, I am not saying he will win, I'm just saying that I don't expect him to be embarrassed in the fight. I personally think, in spite of his attitude, he is a class act. His attitude for me is great for boxing since it brings a bit of interest and spice to the proceedings which at heavyweight have been dull and dying for ten odd years.

The Herbie Hide comparison is so correct and so blatantly obvious that surely someone in the Haye camp will notice and that will be brought in to his training i.e. they will make sure that they are prepared to work differently to suit fighting Vitali. In fact, you could say Herbie fighting Vitali in a similar style to Haye's style is a benefit for this fight for Haye.

It now looks like the word "Mandatory" is being taken seriously for once,.... Vitalli will fight Juan Carlos Gomez instead.

On the other hand Haye might just be fighting Wlad Klitscko !
Although I do find the K'o brothers extremely hard to watch, Id rather see Haye face Chris Arreola

    Don't let it happen again....

Vitali was a done deal aswell - I'll believe when I see the setanta logo on Hayes boots.

Nice of the Klitschko's to start playing him at his own mind games :D:D Hehe

Nah lads it is more than likely Wladimir, who would prefer to fight earlier than June tho (which prob means a change of venue to the poxy o2) as the Povetkin fight must be over and done with before Sept 13th

Doesn't make sense to me, this change about, but i guess we'll see what way it pans out soon enough

wouldn't it be better for a marketing point of view if he were to face wlad, then, if as you hope:P Haye beats Wlad, there is a showdown with big brother seeking revenge....:D

Yeah that is the fairy tale I was thinking about....but in fact Wlad beats him - he just wont beat him up as bad as Vitali

Well, Haye should be happy really. I think his chances at the WBO and IBF belts are greater. He won't beat Vitali; he could beat Wlad!

I agree, has his chin really been tested. He lost once to Thompson thru exhaustion as well as shots. Lets give him the benefit of the doubt for now!

Im interested in seeing how Vitali gets on against Gomez. It will be a real test against a top contender. Peter was absolutely awful that night.
