Does anyone know of someone who can fix Mira Event showers.
It looks like it needs a washer or a seal of some sort.
I have spoken to one company with a €70 callout and the actual repair cost on top of that. You'd nearly buy a new unit for that!
    No recession for them!
    I'm in Galway City West.
    Thanks

How old is the shower?? if its stil under warranty just contact mira themselves and they will fix it. Alternatively they can email you a DIY fix it yourself document.

Not sure how old it is. About 6/7 years maybe.
It's out of warranty. I still have the installation guide but I would be reluctant to go at it myself. I would prefer to have someone who knows what they're at, given that it involves water and electricity.
I might give Mira a call. Thanks

    €70 callout charge?

A friend of mine rang a plumber last week about a leaky tap. Fella wanted €60 callout + labour. All that needed replacing was a washer.

Friend ended up going to the hardware stote and bought a whole new tap assembly for I think €40

And all these labourers complaining that they've no work, is it any wonder?

Mental image of Mary going around smashing taps in her house just so she needs a plumber... :pac:

Cute lads, but unnecessary. My partner fixes stuff, so I have plenty of insects "on tap", so to speak.

    ;)

So, was it a "plumber" with apprenticeship served qualifications, van, tools, insurance, accountancy overheads, etc. that your mate called, or was it a "labourer" with no qualifications or business overheads that you called?

I've yet to meet a self-employed plumber stuck for work.
