We have enough sh1tty language departments here, I remember at one stage Mao's little soldiers in the Chinese department were sending me a couple of e mails a week until I blocked them

the reason i chose not to do a language this year is because they DONT offer Russian. I think its a joke!! Russian is one of the fastest growing languages in the world!

No it's not, and that is a stupid reason for choosing not to do a language

I haven't heard anything, but that's not to say it won't be introduced at some point.

I know Trinity offer Russian, I'm not sure if any other Irish universities do.

I checked the Open University but they don't seem to offer Russian either.
Trinity do offer a course, but not much use to me since in Cork.
I contacted numerous Russian teachers listed across the net but most had left Ireland it seems.

Anyway, I recently got a Russian satellite system and will continue teaching myself.
To be honest, I think I need to seriously weigh up my options and consider leaving Ireland.
There are simply very scant resources, from getting a simple broadband connection to do a straightforward language course unfortunately.

that is a harsh reason to leave a country just because of broadband connections??? hmm.........
