UK Mail Forwarding Service ?

Has anyone used a mail forwarding service from the UK? I'd ideally like to find one for some things I want to buy from the UK that can't be delivered to Ireland.

I found one called www.my-uk-mail.co.uk that charges a £7 one off charge and then £10 for 1 months use of a UK mailbox. They'll consolidate any packages you have ordered over the month,or send immediately, and just charge you postage after those initial costs. It's £2 for 100g and £1.50 for every 100g after that. For 2 day delivery it seems to be £20 for postage of any amount less that 30kg. Has anyone used them or found cheaper?

By my calculations, even by adding £37 stg to what I want to buy,it works out cheaper than buying the two items in Ireland!

Something to remember before you sign up, check that the sites you're ordering from will allow you to place an order with an Irish registered card, while posting to a UK address. Some places will want the card holder to be registered in the same country as the delivery address (i.e., the UK) and may refuse your order.

Hi, just wondering how you got on with that site. Will be considering it too if all went well!

I still haven't got around to using this service just yet but I intend to after Christmas. I've emailed them twice and recieved a prompt detailed reply on both occasions so it seems pretty much on the level so far.I have found one or two recommendations online too.I meant to ring today just to be sure as I'm looking to buy an important item.

I'm finding more reason to use a service like this all the time.
I was ready to buy a top online on warehouse.ie for E45 until I realised it's on sale on the stores uk site for £10 with free delivery!I emailed and complained and they replied saying a 350% price increase was to cover increased VAT charges in Ireland .Seething!!

I'm making a return visit to this thread to say that I have used this service (www.my-uk-mail.co.uk) and found it excellent!

They are a very professional operation. They requied two forms of ID from me before I could join and I was then given a mail box number I could use for one month.I made seven purchases over the course of the month from different shops and I was emailed and informed as each package arrived for me(usually the day after I placed the order). If the shop that it was bought from was marked on the outside package I was given the name of it and asked what I wanted done with it.I stored all my mail in my mail box until all my seven parcels arrived and then had them ship them to me as 1 big parcel.
Shipping cost E25 which may seem steep but it was a big box and two items in the box would have cost E20 individually to ship to Ireland from the stores they were bought in.If I'd paid for each item to be delivered individually from the stores to here I'd have paid around E100. Delivery was done via DHL and while they said it would be 2 days it arrived in just 1.Everything was packed carefully in acres of bubble wrap too.

I bought things from 5 different stores in total and I saved E300 on what I would have paid if I had bought in Ireland due to the sterling differential.I made use of being able to buy online in M&S sale over xmass and in warehouse sale too. There were two items I couldn't have had shipped to Ireland without use of this service.Over all I'm extremely happy and signed up for a year long mailbox with a friend for E50. At E25 each it's quite good value.

That's a good point Jor El.
The service I used will pay for your goods for you with a UK credit card if you need it.You have to credit your account via paypal first. The charge around 10% of the price of the item for use of the facility. At that price it might only be handy if you REALLY needed to buy something imo.
