    For yourself? Kids? Wife/Husband/GF/BF?
What kinds of games do you like?

Zelda.... If you only get one game, it has to be Zelda. That's not an opinion. That is a solid, scientificaly proven given: Like Gravity. Have ANYTHING Nintendo? Get Zelda

    :)

OK, Zelda is a must buy so.
If you like Pokemon, then Pokemon Diamond or Pearl are DS versions of the franchise.
Can't go wrong with New Super Mario Brothers.
Personally I think FPS games are ropey on the DS - not a huge fan of hand held FPS games.

On the RPG side, Chronotrigger is just out in the States (cheap to import) - out in Europe early next year if you want to wait.

Metacritic is a great place to go if you want to find out what the best games on any system are.... http://www.metacritic.com/games/ds/scores/

You can get a browser card that you install like a game cart and you can. It's very slow though and, like many handhelds, it's pretty limited (No flash video etc). But, could be handy for checking e-mail I suppose

Oh, yeah, that works fine. Play Tetris with my nephew. You need their Friend Code but it works fine. Some games even have VIOP incorporated so you can talk/listen while playing (Although I haven't played any of them so I don't know how the quality is. I think one of the Tony Hawk games has it.)

If you are prepared to try something a little different get Elite Beat Agents or better yet import Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! Best damn games you can get for the system.
