In the absence of available pics for the moment I found this application recently on the Councils web site.

Click on the "view related documents" tab at the top of the page and have a look at the plans and site layout and let me know if you find any principle dimensions as required by the regs. In fact let me know if you find any dimensions for the house.

Make sure you are using IE as there is a problem with Firefox.

Thats a damn good question. But I have the reference number recorded in my little black book to use for demonstrating precedent should the need arise in the future in relation to any of my own applications ;)

No photos but "picture" this . Lock up site for Christmas . 4 storey apartment block roof tiles on gutters and down pipes being fitted . Return in New Year to find that down pipe stubs have been fitted ( behind facia board out of site ) to discharge past wall plates and into ( plastered ) building - 3 soaked elevations , months of drying out to follow .......

Or how about , to the top of a fire resistant wall / underside of RC slab . Contractor used foam to fire stop the gap . The can is labled

    " DANGER - HIGHLY FLAMABLE "

would be more like it......But of course you'll be met with one of the following statements.

    1. Two wrongs don't make a right.
    2. That validation guy doesn't work here anymore, he's gone back to plumbing in Cork.
    3. It was validated because the spirit of the application was good but the detail it lacked led to its eventual downfall...
    4. Applications don't set precedent's councillors do, at the monthly meetings.
    5. How dare you question the workings of the planning system.

Anyway it's nice to see it's happening all over the country, not just here.:D

Slig - did you not notice how the leash in the man's hand went slack? I think the dog was underneath that load when it fell! Tlak about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hopefully this won't be seen as dragging up and old thread, despite being exactly what it is, but I just saw this video and had to post it here,.

I was convinced it was a pisstake at the start, but if it was, they went to great lengths to make it look real.

I've seen this done to provide access for material feed units that weren't included in the pre-cast slabs.. Little bit of shuttering and you have a nice square hole....
