Hi my st bernard has just gone into heat and I am looking for advice on if there's anything I can do for her during this time? any info is appreciated.I obviously know to keep her away from any male dog's but is there anything I should be doing for her otherwise?

Make sure to treat her as always, no better and certainly no worse than usual.

Other than that, keep an eye on things to spot any signs of inflamation or soreness. The vulva will swell and bleed lightly(occassionally) but there shouldn't be any puss or other visible discharge.

    Discourage too much licking.

If in doubt, see your vet.
