    ENTERTAINMENT: Ireland's Favourite Christmas Toys
    On: TV3
    Date: Sunday 14th December 2008 (23 minutes left)
    Time: 18:30 to 19:00 (30 minutes long)

    TV3's special Christmas programme takes a nostalgic look back at ten of the best selling toys and gadgets at Christmas from years gone by. Featuring classic adverts combined with Irish celebrities recounting their fondest memories of Christmas toys such as Barbie, Lego, Buzz Light-year, Furby, Star Wars and many more. Contributors include Rosanna Davison, Gerald Keane, Brendan O'Carroll, Orla Barry, Karen Koster, Gavin Lambe Murphy and many others.

    ====

    (Gavin Lambe Murphy has just recounted how he smashed his brothers Millenium Falcon on Stephen's Day. Yet another reason to hate the guy ... as if another was needed.)

    I remember the buzz light year panic. It was nuts. My brother had looked for one of those and my dad had gotten it for him early that year when there were loads available (very organised he is) on the run up to christmas there were people crying out for them offering up to 500 punts for one. I'd say he was sorely tempted to sell it on :D

    I worked in a toy shop myself the year the Bratz dolls first came out. I saw parents reduced to tears because a certain one that they needed was sold out and they couldnt complete the set for the kids.

    Barbie wins for me hands down. Such costume combinations! Ski chalet Barbie was my favorite - She even managed to look sophisticated in a shell ski suit - now that is a challenge in itself!
