Connecting a 2nd hand Digibox

Current box has died, it seems. Was flicking through the channels, screen went gray, and then Sky went off. Red light stays on the box. Have tried switching off the power for 10 seconds, but still nothing.

Thus, I need a new digibox. Have seen the cheapest new is from Sky themselves, at €150 but also seen some 2nd hand ones.

My question is: if I were to get a 2nd hand one, would I have to get it "paired" to my existing card or what would I need to do to get the current card working on the "new" digibox?

Yes, need to pair to get all channels active on your viewing card 'viewable' on the "new" decoder.

You definitely need to get it paired for the premium channels, I'm not sure about the ordinary (non-FTA) channels. It's a quick process, in fairness, and there won't be many questions asked once you explain you got a 2nd-hand box to replace your broken one.
