As the title says, can anyone recommend a good wireless router for use with the ps3.

I have a thompson tg585v and the thing is rubbish, even with all required ports open, wireless or wired, I get an absolute ****ty ping when playing online. I also have a Aolynk dr814 which works like a charm when using it with the ps3, christ even the speed of my downloads increase on the pc when using it compared to the 585.

So can anyone recommend a good wireless router that won't be a piece of sh*te like the thompson.

And before anyone says why not use the aolynk, I need wifi because of b*tchy brothers.

    Are you with Smart?

I'lll assume you need an ADSL modem/router, like the DR814. Or maybe bridge the DR814 with a standalone wifi router?

I had DR814 too, which I replaced with a Netgear modem/router (can't recall model), and it was the biggest heap of scrap. Unable to sustain a connection and random dropping out. I then used the DR814 bridged with a cheapo Sweex LW050, which actually worked very well. Now, I'm using a Belkin modem/router which has 2 antennae, straight forward UI, but despite the 2 antennas, it has poor wifi range compared to the cheap Sweex (now both run in tandem).

Maybe other brands like DLink or Linksys?

I have been using a Netgear DG834GT for 3 yrs with my PC and PS3, PSP and its never given as day or trouble. Never had any of these NAT issues or port forwarding issues with PC or PS3 games.

Yeah I'm with Smart, I take it the DR814 gave it away lol

If I was to bridge the DR814 with a wifi router, how would I access the UI of it? I thought about trying something like that before but thought that it would cause some kind of conflict (usually the address for most routers are the same).

Anyway thanks for the info :)

I've been using a Netgear DG834G as well for well over a year with PC/Laptop/Wii and just works. No complaints whatsoever.
