HP TX1150 won't boot

    Hi all

I have a HP TX1150. AMD turion, 2gb ram with vista home. Factory spec since buying it 17 months ago from PC world

I went to resume windows earlier and it was off. Turning it on the lights would come on but the screen is completely dead (doesn't light up blank if you know what i mean) It was completely unresponsive, the mute button normally changes colour when you press it but its not doing anything so its not just a screen problem. I also tried connecting an external monitor but that was the same too.

I guessed there might be some hardware problem so i removed the HDD and the RAM but it made no difference.

Any ideas what to try or what it could be?

I'm assuming PC worlds warranty is only 1 yr? My receipt doesn't say

Failing that is there any good repair places around wicklow/southside? Theres a new compuworld in arklow. What are the pc world repair places like? Carrickmines is where i bought it if it makes a difference

Any help appreciated, the wife says i look like part of me has died!

    Thanks

I would never go into a retailer for a repair - find yourself a self owned shop if you can. they can at least tell you whats wrong with it before you spend a bunch of money fixing it. Retailers tend to charge you for the estimate.
