Playstation 3 Audio through TV and Surround Sound Unit

    Hi all,

I've posted the following in the Home Entertainment forum HE Forum Thread but hopefully I might get some help from here either.

I'm trying to set up the audio on my new PS3. Its connected to my HD TV with a HDMI cable. I also have a Sony Digital Audio Control Centre with 5.1 speakers.

I have the PS3 connected to the control centre with an optical cable.

When I set the PS3 Audio to run through the HDMI, the sound comes out of the TV only.

When I set it to optical, theres no sound from the TV, just the 5.1 speakers.

Is there any way to have the sound running through both, or should I be using one or the other?

    Thanks!

You can only select one output on the ps3 ,you might be able to run a through cable from the AMP to the tv.
So when you have the amp on optical it passes the sound ,through an RCA lead and to the telly.

I use a dvd upscaler for dvd's and have the sound through tv and my amp.

    One output only.
