A few Sky HD Questions.

    If I buy a Sky HD box, without a subscription, will I be able to watch Channel 4 HD? I thought you needed the FTV card to get C4HD but I saw it on the English EPG last night. Also, will I be able to record programs if there is only one wire going into the box from the dish?

    No. you can only watch ch4 hd with a non Irish card.
    can't be added to other channels.

    you cant record it.

    only hd channels at the mo are bbchd and luxe hd. (without subscription)

    you will be able to record with one cable attached but only the channel you are watching!

    Cheers. I thought that I could record with one cable alright. But dont I need a viewimg card to record something. If I get that FTV card (yellow house card?) will I be able to get C4HD?

    Yes, you do need an active subscription smartcard to record anything. AFAIK, yes it is possible to get C4HD with a FTV (Freesat From Sky) card.
