    Hi there,
I'm now 29 and would like to get professional photos taken of me before I turn 30 :(

However, I would like a photo session which includes of my hair & makeup being done, several clothes changes and advice.
The photos I am looking for are several types so that I can look back on when I'm old and decrepit & one to my mum for Christmas.
I have seen bellamakeover. ie but it is sooo expensive  and has not had great reviews.. Do you know of anyone else?

I would be grateful of any help/suggestions you can give me.
    Thanks.

    PS I am in Dublin.

Sound like it could be a great Boards Studio Meetup and you'd have about 20 cameras pointing at ya!

But seriously, heres a thread which might be of general interest to you.

meh - if you don't like anything you come across the Boards Studio Meetup is always an option :D

Any good professional photographer, make up artist and stylist will be expensive. Basically you are hiring 3 to 4 creative professionals using thousands of euros worth of equipment.

A lot of the 'makeover' type shoots may charge a low fee for the shoot and then charge high fees for any prints you get, or you may find some just give you a high fee and then you can have all the pictures afterwards

Send an e-mail off to a friend of mine, http://www.misslili.net/lili/
as she works with great stylists etc

I'd do the photography part for you for about **********. As one of the things I do is model portfolios.

I'm not trying to go against you but Challengemaster has a valid point..

And now he's turned pro

    vmcnult ....

theres a couple of people out there that you could look for to do a cheap job, you could volunteer for one of the TV Shows, or search online for local talented make-up trainees, gifted amateur portrait photographers, innovative and inspirational trainee hairstylists...all of which would be willing to do it for experience, its possible that this could be difficult to organise and gather them all together at a time that suits you.

or .... hire professionals and possibly pay through the roof..... theres a fair amount involved in a photoshoot - not to mention the expensive equipment that professionals use to produce the new you.

if you are lucky you can get a decent professional photographer - who can supply make-up artists/hairstylists that want to gain more experience and will be willing to work for virtually nothing.

If you are super lucky you can find them all on boards in the forums..... you already have a volunteer to take the photos and also a suggestion to come along to a boards studio night and model for the photographers there - which I'd say go for.... worst case you'll have learned how it works.

I dont have much experience with portrait photography - but would also be interested in joining the other boardsies if you are doing a studio shoot.

Ps. sorry for the length of the message.

It is not the purpose of the forum to judge another users talents or otherwise with the exception of users that post work specifically for C&C. From time to time requests for photographic opportunities come up on the forum. Indeed we had one recently for weddings. Boards users may respond within the charter remit of discussion and advice.

Whether a user is professional or someone who has picked up a camera last week is of no concern to the forum users. We are all at a particular position in our capabilities of photography. References to ones opinion of another users work particularly in this context is most unhelpful and in a worst case scenario could expose liability to Boards.ie - boards is already fighting legalities of someone who didn't like what forum users were posting about them.

In the threads that have added ridicule and scorn on a boards user on this forum I haven't heard one bit of factual opinion as to the quality of that users work i.e. someone who has used them for a service and thinks they are c**p or thinks they are wonderful. And yet users feel free to post unsubstantiated comment in relation to a users work.

It is up to the user seeking the photographic opportunity such as a wedding or make over to make up their own mind as to whether the individual is suitable or appropriate to what they wish to achieve. If they are clever then they will do their own research about the user on the forum and may arrive at a conclusion as to the experience of a user if they find someone enquiring on the forum in recent times about a model shoot. This is for them to ascertain and not for a boards user to prompt about another boards user.

OP - I apologise that your thread is going off topic to what i believe was your actual request.

If any user wishes to clarify the above information please pm me and DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD AS IT HAS BECOME DERAILED ENOUGH ALREADY. Ignoring of this will be considered an infraction.

    Thank you.

    Back on topic ....

Sometime in the new year I hope to organise another Studio session. This time with a bit more notice & time than the last one. If you would like to model for that then you would have a selection of Studio Shots from different photographers. If you were to organise a Make-up/Hair person for that day then that & printing costs would be your only expenses.

If you look on other forums on here you may find a student who may want the experience of doing Hair/Make-up for a Photo shoot. They would probably also like copies of some of the images for their portfolio.

It could work out where everyone wins.
