unpaid employment and Jobseekers allowance

    Hi,

    just wondering does anyone know how jobseekers allowance works if your on work placement from college.

    its a 3 month placement at the end of the course, so technically not in third level education anymore. so far its looking like its going to be a part time unpaid placement.

    has anyone been in a situation like this, is it possible to get jobseekers allowance?

    You wouln't be entitiled to payment as you would not be able to seek fulltime employment while on work placement.

    cheers for response.

    Thought i might be able to get it since the placement is part-time, and there is an allowance for working part-time with JA.

    Anywho, possibly better off just asking at SW office.
