Anyone know where the J O Connell's pub shown in the Guinness Christmas Ad which ends with the line "Even at the home of the black stuff they dream of a white one" is?

Looks like a nice spot for a pint :)

Haven't seen the ad, but there is a pub called Jerry O O'Connells in Portobello (Dublin).

EDIT: just checked ad. Definitely not the same one. :D

The chap in it that is waving goodbye to the couple leaving used to be a leisure entertainment manager in Drogheda.
    Nice chap.
He bought my business partner and I a bottle of champers (and not the cheap kind) to celebrate a closing of a contract.

...in 2005 their Irish Christmas campaign took a silver Shark.[43] This TV ad has been run every Christmas since 2003 and features pictures of snow falling in places around Ireland, evoking the James Joyce story The Dead, finishing at St. James's Gate Brewery with the line "Even at the home of the black stuff they dream of a white one".

This ad and the Barry's Tea train ad on the wireless always give me the Christmas buzz.

/EDIT Oh, and after watching it again there, I love the subtlety of the Taxi light going off at the start, nice touch.

In all fairness to guinness, they do come out with some epic ads. this ad being one of them.

Right on top of Skryne hill, across the valley from Tara.
If you're looking for it, you'll need to ask for "Mrs O's" or nobody will know where you mean.
