Tool booth gadgets

Has any provision been made in law to allow the fixing of the "gadgets" for automatically recording transit through toll booths to car windscreens?
I always thought that nothing that could obscure your vision in any way, save items legally required such as tax/insurance discs, could be affixed to your windscreen. I understand the idea is to try to position them in front of your rear view mirror but unless the gadgets are totally see though they must cause some obstruction however small. A technicality I'll admit, but sure isn't that what put's barristers' kids through university.

You seem to fundamentally misunderstand the nature of our system of laws. A barrister's job is to get people off on a technicality, not get them convicted on one. Not even prosecution counsel would try to do that.

the NRA's tag is supposed to be fixed behind your mirror or to the section with black dots near the top centre of your windscreen. I can't see either of my tags from the drivers seat, so I can't see how this would be an issue.

most wipers leave parts of the windscreen unwiped and obscured too, haven't heard of this being an issue either.

The smaller sized units are, when correctly placed, entirely masked by the rear-view mirror even in a car with a very, very small mirror.. The bigger ones like the eFlow unit probably are - I haven't got one...
