Has anyone here taken this course before? It's on optional 5 credit course outside your core degree.

Decided to give it a go this year.

Ya I signed up for it too. Do you know if it affects your average of your other exams?

Not entirely sure about that. It's an extra 5, in addition to the core 60. Suppose it would have been just as easy to attend the lectures and not be assessed, come to think of it.

Took it the first year it was out, 2005/2006 I think? Very random topics, but some brilliant speakers amongst the duds, great if you're interested in science as a whole, not just the subjects you're taking.

Sounds interesting. I'd love to go to the lectures, but I hate the idea of having to do an exam in it. I'll have enough exams in May as it is.

Me too...too much study for my head!
Is this part of your 60 credits or outside of it? just wondering

No idea if it's still the same, but the exam was an hour long MCQ, was quite easy, very straightforward, and since there's no real study you can do but attend the lectures you don't have to stress over study.

Good stuff, I doubt the mode of assessment has changed. Were there any written assessments or just the end of the year exam?

Outside I think - basically you'd be doing 65 credits, but the extra 5 wouldn't contribute to your degree.
